The Beverly Hills Police Department is observing National Bicycle Safety Month in May by encouraging people to be active and ride safely.
The BHPD will conduct a traffic safety operation throughout May focused on driver behaviors that put bicyclists and pedestrians at risk such as speeding, making illegal turns, failure to yield the right of way, and running stop signs and red lights.
“Bicycling is a great means of transportation and recreation, and everyone deserves to ride to their destination safely,” BHPD Chief Mark G. Stainbrook said. “Let’s look out for one another and share the road, share the responsibility.”
