The city of Beverly Hills is seeking members for Mayor Julian Gold’s new Electrical Resilience Ad Hoc Committee, which will explore ways for the city to become more energy self-reliant in the future.
“Today, we are dependent on an aging infrastructure that is less reliable than we need. As a result, we are subject to an unacceptable number of failures of the system,” Gold said. “The goal of this committee is to investigate technology which will allow us to be more electrically independent in the future and avoid these failures.”
The committee will be overseen by the City Manager’s Office and the Public Works Department. It will consist of two City Council members and three at-large volunteer members. Applicants must be Beverly Hills residents. Appointees will serve two-year terms.
Applications are being accepted until Friday, June 2, at 5 p.m. For information and applications, call the City Clerk’s office at (310) 285-2400, or visit beverlyhills.org/applyforacommission.
