The Los Angeles Zoo Presents “Wild for the Planet,” an Earth Month celebration happening every weekend in April. Celebrate the planet and its rich biodiversity with fun, inspiring activities, entertainment and presentations.

Go wild for the arts with special community and nature-inspired entertainment and performances twice daily at the zoo. “Wild About Storytelling” will feature the L.A. Public Library storytellers on April 8, and award-winning author and former chimpanzee keeper Brenda Scott Royce reading “Antelope Hope” on April 9. “Wild About Dance” will feature the Korean Classical Music and Dance Company performing colorful dances on April 8, and 3rd Rock Hip Hop performing inspirational hits that help increase awareness of sustaining the environment on April 9. Throughout the month, visitors can connect with community and conservation organizations at the Earth Expo and learn ways to make a positive impact on the planet. Learn how to protect plants, birds and bees at the Planting for Pollinators Station and visit the Upcycling Inspiration Lab for fun, zero-waste activities. A honey tasting booth will be hosted by the Los Angeles County Beekeepers Association. Tastings include samples of five different types of all-natural honey for $3 per person. Learn about the zoo’s animals and their unique biology and habits through special feedings and enrichment demonstrations happening twice daily.

Donations of unwanted handheld electronics will be accepted at the zoo throughout April by recycling partner ECO-CELL. Proceeds will go to conservation nonprofits such as the Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education, which works to safeguard the critically endangered Grauer’s gorilla.
