Rabbi Yossi Eilfort, founder of security firm Magen Am, which provides security services to synagogues and Jewish organizations across Los Angeles, hosted two free self-defense classes for female Beverly Hills city staff and commissioners on March 15.

“Women play such a big role in our community, and we wanted to empower them and this was a great opportunity to do that,” said Councilwoman Sharona Nazarian, who helped organize the lessons.

She said she is speaking with Eilfort about offering additional self-defense classes.
