A 25-year-old suspect accused of robbing a victim on March 13 in the Fairfax District was arrested the following day when he appeared in court in Compton on an earlier gun possession charge, police said.
The suspect, Marcellus Moore, of Los Angeles, allegedly robbed a man around 7:10 p.m. on March 13 near Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. The suspect shoved the victim to the ground and stole a designer satchel, according to police.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Division responded and were able to identify Moore as the alleged suspect. Investigators determined the suspect was scheduled to appear in court on March 14 and arrested Moore at the courthouse. The suspect was carrying the satchel, which still contained some of the victim’s belongings, police said.
Lt. Mark Ro, of the Wilshire Division, said the property was returned to the victim. The suspect was booked for robbery and was held on $75,000 bail.
