Middle and high school teachers across California are encouraged to apply for the Jewish Children and Family Service’s three-day Summer Institute on Holocaust education at the USC Shoah Foundation.
Up to 100 teachers will be selected for the free training, a program of the JCFS’ California Collaborative for Holocaust and Genocide Education, where they will participate in expert-led interactive workshops, seminars, round-tables and excursion-based learnings.
After the program, participating teachers are expected to implement the new curricula into their classrooms and share their new learning materials with up to 10 colleagues.
They will also be invited to participate in quarterly sessions with members of the California Collaborative to continue building their knowledge.
The institute runs from June 26-28, and accommodations, meals and curriculum materials are included.
