A photograph in the Jan. 4, 1973, issue of the Park Labrea News showed two artworks by Auguste Rodin that were gifted to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art by Beverly Hills collector Leona Cantor. The bronze casting, left, and the original plaster cast of Rodin’s “Minotaur” or “Faun and Nymph,” circa 1886, were considered to be the among the best pieces in a collection of 11 works that Cantor donated to the museum, according to the accompanying article. The artworks remain LACMA’s collection today.
