The Kabab Shop opened their newest fast casual Mediterranean restaurant in El Segundo on Dec. 30. Besides offering a menu of seasoned kebabs, they hand-carve proteins from a vertical rotisserie and grill them over an open flame. Also on the menu is a falafel, a variety of salads and sides. Dry January at Piccalilli
The Cali-Asian restaurant with pre-prohibition cocktails, craft beers and curated wine selection is serving vibrant and visually stunning mocktails during Dry January. Piccalilli has updated their cocktail menu to feature beverages for sober curious imbibers. There is non-alcoholic preserved persimmon and tonic drink made with crisp Fuyu persimmons and Q Spectacular tonic that is garnished with an aromatic Kaffir lime leaf. They are also shaking a Yoo-Hanan made from a Yoo-Hoo chocolate drink. Cafe Gratitude’s juice cleanse
Executive chef Dreux Ellis and registered dietitian/nutritionist Jayne Pinsky have created Café Gratitude’s Juice Cleanse to kick-off the new year. The nutrient-filled menu of juices, includes wellness shots and smoothies. Try the Plentiful Rainbow Juice made with red grapes, beet, carrot, cranberry, ginger, pomegranate and apple. Bird’s Nest at Birdie G’s
Bar Manager Stephanie Reading has expanded the non-alcoholic and low ABV cocktail menu for Dry January. Try a Cosmopolitan made with Monday’s zero-alcohol gin or the Bird of Paradise made with passion fruit and Monday’s mezcal. Birdie G’s is popping open a fun, non-alcoholic Riesling from Leitz and also NON’s sparkling wines that come in some wild flavors, such as lemon marmalade and hibiscus.
