Celebrate National Pastrami Day on Jan. 14. Whether you enjoy a pastrami sandwich, a reuben or even a pastrami dog, local eateries will satisfy your hunger.
At Canter’s, choose between a pastrami piled high on rye or a griddled pastrami Reuben. Pair it with Canter’s famous pickles and save room for a black and white cookie. Canter’s is open for dine-in, take-out and delivery with their full menu available. Visit the flagship location on Fairfax, or the store in West Los Angeles, 419 N. Fairfax Ave., (323) 651-2030; 12109 Santa Monica Blvd. at Bundy, (424) 317-0307.
Du-par’s Restaurant at the Original Farmers Market at Third and Fairfax serves a traditional Reuben with their house made sauce, sauerkraut, a side and a pickle for $17.10. Diners can add a cup of soup for a small extra charge – or splurge and have a short stack of their famous hotcakes.
Looking for something truly original? How about a pastrami dog from Pink’s. A 9” stretch dog is topped with Swiss cheese, pastrami and mustard. Make it a Reuben by adding sauerkraut. Pink’s is located at Pink’s Square, corner of Melrose and La Brea.
Whatever your pleasure for National Pastrami Day, local restaurants will make it delicious.
