Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Presents the Los Angeles Premiere of Wise Children’s “Wuthering Heights,” adapted and directed by Emma Rice (“Brief Encounter,” “Tristan & Yseult”), from Jan. 11 to 22, in The Wallis’ Bram Goldsmith Theater.
The production is shot through with music, dance, passion and hope that transforms Emily Brontë’s masterpiece into an intoxicating story of revenge for our time. Rescued from the Liverpool docks as a child, Heathcliff is taken to live at Wuthering Heights, where he finds a kindred spirit in Catherine, and a fierce love ignites. When they are forced apart, a brutal chain of events is unleashed.
The engagement is a National Theatre, Wise Children, Bristol Old Vic and York Theatre Royal co-production in association with Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
Tickets for “Wuthering Heights” ($39-$125) are on sale now, as are single tickets and subscriptions to all performances in The Wallis’ 2022/2023 Season. For information, visit thewallis.org/wh. The Wallis is located at 9390 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills.
