The First-In Fire Foundation donated a new freezer on Dec. 12 to personnel at the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Station 29, located at 4029 Wilshire Blvd.
The donation was part of the foundation’s Firehouse Emergency Preparedness Freezer program, and the freezer was donated by the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council.
The donation was especially important because the fire station’s freezers recently stopped working, officials said. It will provide the fire station with an extra place to store food when away from the station addressing emergencies.
“What matters most is that the community truly cares about the well-being of the local first responders who so bravely protect the communities they so proudly serve at Christmas, Hannukah and 365 days a year,” First-In Fire Foundation president Lyn MacEwen Cohen said.
The First-In Fire Foundation is seeking contribution to support local firefighters. For information, visit firstinfirefoundation.org.
