Celebrate the holidays at the Original Farmers Market, corner of Third and Fairfax, and enjoy a fun and festive season with carolers, crafts, decorations, food and special programs.
The celebrations kick off on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 4:30-5:15 p.m. with the market’s annual Hanukkah Celebration and lighting of an ice sculpture menorah by members of the Miracle Mile Chabad. Participants will enjoy crafts and a musical performance by Jason Mesches.
From Monday, Dec. 19, through Christmas Day, carolers, family-friendly shows and musical performances will fill each day with merriment on the market’s plaza.
On Monday, Dec. 19, the Grand Arts Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform from 2-3 p.m., and School of Rock Fairfax District’s House Band will perform from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Einstein Calypso Christmas will perform from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, followed by Louie Cruz Beltran performing 4-6 p.m.
On Wednesday, Dec. 21, families can enjoy Snow Globe Craft with Art 2 Go from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., the Hollow Trees Holiday Show from 12:30-2 p.m., and the MoonRays Doo Wop Holiday Show at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
The Yuletide Carolers wills troll through the market from noon-3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22. Families can also enjoy a Snowman Craft with the Entertainment Group from noon-3 p.m., the Bob Baker Marionettes Holiday Show at 12:30 and 2 p.m., and the Salvation Army’s Mariachi Rayos del Sol from 4-5 p.m. On Friday, Dec. 23, the Salvation Army Youth Jazz Band will perform from noon-1 p.m., and Holiday Carolers wills stroll through the market from noon-3 p.m. On Christmas Eve, enjoy the strolling Yuletide Carolers from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
