California Sen. Ben Allen (D-Santa Monica), center, named Debbie Allen as the 26th Senate District’s 2022 Woman of the Year during a ceremony on Dec. 11 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. The city of Beverly Hills also surprised the legendary dance artist, director and choreographer with a special proclamation declaring Dec. 11 as Debbie Allen Day in Beverly Hills.
