The city of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Police Department are holding an Anonymous Gun Buyback on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Exposition Park, 3986 Hoover St.
The citywide Gun Buyback Program is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development. City leaders and LAPD gun experts will be available to answer questions about the event and the guns. Individuals may surrender guns anonymously.
The public is reminded that when bringing a firearm, leave the unloaded gun in a locked container or stored in a vehicle’s trunk. Staff will provide directions to individuals surrendering guns.
Those who surrender a handgun, shotgun or rifle will receive a $100 gift card, and those who turn in ghost guns and assault weapons will receive a $200 gift card. For information, visit lapdonline.org.
