It’s been a tough year for Christina Applegate, who recently revealed her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. On Nov. 14, though, the Emmy-award winning actress made her first public appearance since her August announcement regarding the disease at a ceremony honoring her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“[My] life started as being a little girl waiting in line to see the first ‘Star Wars’ on this very street at that very theater [the TCL Chinese Theatre],” Applegate. “And looking at these [stars] going, ‘Who are these people? What did they do? Did they do something right? Did they do something wrong? Whatever it is, I want one. I f-ing want one.’ And I was five years old. So, this day means more to me than you could possibly imagine.”

She was flanked by creator Liz Feldman and co-star Linda Cardellini of her Netflix series “Dead to Me,” as well as three of her “Married… with Children” cast members, Katy Sagal, David Faustino and Amanda Bearse.

“Humility, humor, fortitude, grace, bravey … I’ve watched you wear it all,” Sagal said. “You’ve been high on my list of life teachers since you were 16.”

“One of the main reasons I decided to join our show ‘Dead to Me’ … was that Christina Applegate was already signed on,” Cardellini said. “I knew I was being offered the rare opportunity to work with a brilliant artist.”

Applegate was joined, too, by her daughter Sadie and husband, Martyn LeNoble.

Applegate is also known for her work on the series “Jesse,” “Samantha Who?” and a recurring role as Jennifer Aniston’s sister on “Friends.” She has appeared in numerous films, including “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead,” “The Sweetest Thing,” “Anchorman” and “Bad Moms.” She earned a Tony nomination for role in the Broadway revival of “Sweet Charity.”

“Christina is a beautiful person, inside and out,” Cardellini said. “She has this incredible ability to make you feel at home wherever you are.”
