The Halloween spirit is in full swing for the final two weekends of the holiday with trick-or-treating stations throughout the zoo featuring M&M’s, Twix, Snickers and Skittles candy courtesy of event partner Mars. Look out for the iconic M&M’S characters throughout the zoo grounds for photo ops and high fives. The L.A. Zoo asks little ghouls and goblins to bring a bag for candy on the last two weekends in an effort to reinforce sustainable practices and reduce waste. Costumes are encouraged.
Guests can enjoy spooktacular sights like a spooky stroll with hauntingly festive decor; an extinct animal graveyard honoring dearly departed species along with ways to protect the vulnerable; hair-raising animal facts; and The LAIR where the slithering and spine-tingling await. Weekends will feature live open-air shows, pumpkin feedings for animals, themed photo ops and education stations. The “mad scientist” returns to his lab for some otherworldly experiments and fun surprises; twice daily animal feedings of the not-so-frightful kind; and education stations with fascinating facts and displays.
The festivities continue through Oct. 31 daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and are free with paid admission. For information, visit lazoo.org/boo.
