The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles and the Korean American Calligraphy Association present the 31st annual “Exhibition of Korean American Calligraphy” running through Friday, Oct. 21, in the KCCLA Gallery.
Since its inception in 1990, many veteran artists have worked with the Korean American Calligraphy Association. In celebration of its 31st anniversary, 47 calligraphers submitted artworks including calligraphy characters and traditional Korean paintings for the exhibit. “Korean calligraphy is now recognized as a great work of art, going beyond simple writing skills and techniques, and has been recognized as a wonderful part of Kculture,” KCCLA director Sangwon Jung said. “Through this year’s calligraphy exhibition at the KCCLA, I hope that it will be a meaningful place to appreciate the various and high-quality works of art reflecting each artist’s soul in one place.”
Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. KCCLA is located at 5505 Wilshire Blvd. For information, call (323)936-3014, or visit kccla.org.
