A 33-year-old man from Lancaster has been charged for allegedly assaulting a woman in a Hollywood parking garage on July 29, knocking her unconscious and kicking her as she lay on the ground.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced the charges on Aug. 5 against Dammion Jamarr Adkins, who faces one felony count each of assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury.

“Violence not only harms individual victims but also disrupts our entire community’s sense of safety,” Gascón said. “Fortunately, this incident was caught on video, providing crucial evidence that led to the arrest and prosecution of this suspect.”

The alleged assault occurred around 2:15 a.m. on July 29 in a parking garage in the 1700 block of North Las Palmas Avenue. Police were called to the scene by witnesses and found the 26-year-old victim, who was taken to a hospital and is recovering. The assault occurred after the suspect allegedly followed the victim and her female friends into the parking garage, police said. Investigators obtained cell phone camera footage from the victim’s friends and witnesses that helped them identify Adkins as the suspect.
