The Original Farmers Market is celebrating its 88th anniversary from Thursday, July 14, through Saturday, July 16, with fun activities, music, food and giveaways.
For nearly a century, the iconic neighborhood dining and shopping destination has been a community gathering place at the corner of Third and Fairfax. The three-day celebration features special drawings for market gift certificates, music from the 1980s, food pop-ups, special merchandise and themed crafts for children.
A merchandise tent will open on the plaza from noon to 5 p.m. each day offering new limited-edition posters illustrated and signed by the Ames Brothers, from Seattle, who have also worked with Pearl Jam, LeBron James and other pop culture icons. Farmers Market T-shirts, hats and key chains with a new design showcasing the market’s beloved grocery cart will also be available. Customers can also enter a drawing for a $100 Farmers Market gift certificate. Eight gift certificates will be given away.
Cedars-Sinai will hold a blood drive at the market from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on July 14-15. For information, visit cedars-sinai.org/programs/blood-donor-services.html.
