Re “Roxbury Drive home to be razed,” June 23 issue
Very troubling news to read this, as apparently the Beverly Hills City Council decided the issue with some important facts not properly illuminated.
Mark Rios apparently was engaged to do renovations and/or rehabilitation to the home in 2015. However, it appears that he did not make the owner aware that any such changes may indeed affect the value and/or potential recognition as a cultural resource/historic landmark. This is the obligation of the most knowledgeable party to the contract and one of abiding good faith.
It appears additionally troubling that Mark Rios appeared at the hearing to negate the possibility of its consideration as a resource. Issues like this carry an inherent professional and ethical obligation.
