On Sunday, July 10, Wallis Annenberg GenSpace will host a summer afternoon of classical music with a free rooftop concert by acclaimed string quartet The ABC+ Ensemble, presented as part of LACMA’s Classical Around Town concert series.
Held on the roof of the Audrey Irmas Pavilion – just above GenSpace – on the campus of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the concert will provide GenSpace and LACMA members, guests and supporters sweeping views of the L.A. skyline, gorgeous music and the chance to visit the newly-opened community center. Light refreshments will be served, and tours of GenSpace will be available.
LACMA’s hour-long Classical Around Town concerts feature a string quartet of leading BIPOC musicians performing family friendly music. They are fun, informal and intimate presentations geared toward families and those who enjoy and want to learn more about classical music in an informal setting.
GenSpace, the vision of philanthropist Wallis Annenberg, is an innovative, modern community space dedicated to enriching and expanding the lives of older adults. Located in the heart of Los Angeles, GenSpace is helping to reimagine aging through connection, classes, partnerships and events, while also launching a leadership initiative to ignite a new national conversation on aging.
Doors open at 1 p.m., and the concert will run from 2 to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Visitors will be asked to provide photo ID and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test administered within 72 hours. To learn more about the mission and programming of GenSpace, visit annenberggenspace.org.
