The Beverly Hills Police Department arrested two male suspects on May 27 after they allegedly stole shoes from a store in the 300 block of North Rodeo Drive.
Lt. Giovanni Trejo said officers received a call at 3:43 p.m. from employees at the store about the theft, and located and detained the two suspects a short distance from the business. He declined to identify which store was targeted to dissuade others from committing similar crimes.
The BHPD sent out a crime alert about the incident when it was initially reported, and another bulletin at 4 p.m. stating officers had left the scene. The suspects were booked for misdemeanor theft because the shoes that were allegedly stolen were valued at less than $950, which is the threshold for felony grand theft. Trejo said the men were in their 20s, but had no further information.
Anyone with information is urged to call the BHPD at (310)285-2125.
