Join Writers Bloc Presents and the Skirball Cultural Center for an online talk with former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch on Tuesday, May 24, at 6 p.m.
Yovanovitch will join Angela Stent, senior adviser to the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies and professor emerita of government and foreign service at Georgetown University, for the discussion.
A well-known expert on international affairs, Yovanovitch has extensive knowledge about Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the current state of politics in both countries. Appointed by President Barack Obama, she served as U.S. ambassador to Ukraine for more than three years, and was formerly deputy chief of mission at the U.S. embassy in Kyiv.
In Yovanovitch’s new book, “Lessons from the Edge,” she recounts her nonpartisan experience in the Foreign Service, rising to the top ranks and serving around the world.
The online program is free, but reservations are required. For information, visit skirball.org/programs/words-and-ideas/former-us-ambassador-ukraine-marie-yovanovitch-lessons-edge.
