Alfred Coffee Malibu opens
The Los Angeles-based coffee shop chain that opened on Melrose Place in 2013 now has a “zen surf shack” beach location. Founder and CEO Josh Zad’s Malibu location offers terracotta tiled floors and walls and living plants throughout the space. Buy one of their limited-edition Malibu-inspired trucker hats and a portion of proceeds from the sale during opening week will be donated to The Malibu Foundation. Smoke City Char Bar Memorial Weekend
Lead mixologist Cole Keith is creating two cocktails for Memorial Day weekend at Smoke City Char Bar in the Arts District. Each beverage will be discounted for seasoned vets, active military and first responders. The First Marines of Pendleton is made with elderflower, Aperol, lemon and Japanese whiskey. It’s priced at $18, but for those who serve or served our country, the cocktail is $12. The Field Medics is made with lemon, bourbon and ginger. It’s $15, but discounted to $10 for those who are serving or have served. Taking over the former Beso space in heart of Hollywood’s Vinyl District, the elevated diner concept delivers a unique evening experience.
