In honor of Earth Day, Friends of Griffith Park invites volunteers to join in planting 100 namesake ferns along the Fern Dell stream bed. The event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. on April 23 with remarks from Councilmember Nithya Raman.

Following the planting, members of the public are invited to participate on a guided nature hike, led by the Department of Recreation & Parks’ ecologist, Courtney McCammon, at 9:30 a.m. From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Council District 4 will host an open-air ‘Eco-Village’ fair featuring community partners including LA Compost, Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, Habits of Waste, LA SAN/RecycLA, South Coast Air Quality Management District, Narrated Objects, Biocitizen and At the Birdhouse.

The stream bed is located at 2333 Fern Dell Dr. Parking is available at the Section 9 parking lot off Fern Dell Drive on the southwest side.
