People Assisting The Homeless has announced that Katie Tell has been appointed as chief external affairs officer. With 25 years of experience managing and raising funds for health care and international public health programs, as well as initiatives fighting homelessness, Tell will lead PATH’s fundraising, communications, community affairs and policy work across California.
“Homelessness is the issue of our time and PATH has been focused on addressing the issues from all fronts,” PATH CEO Jennifer Hark Dietz said. “From public policy, community engagement, internal leadership development programs and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, we are working to address the systemic causes and bring more solutions to the communities we serve. We know Katie’s leadership will support and elevate all of these efforts.”
Prior to joining PATH, Tell led the fundraising and external affairs programs for L.A. Family Housing and Eisner Health. She helped increase public support for homeless services, affordable housing development and health care access for all.
“I have long admired PATH’s work, and I am thrilled to have joined such a focused, dedicated and compassionate statewide team,” Tell said. “Leading external affairs at PATH is really about providing the answer to that question, ‘What can I do?’ – engaging all of our friends, neighbors and community members in PATH’s mission to end homelessness. We can’t do this work alone, and we need every Californian to stand with us and advocate for proven effective solutions. There are so many ways to support PATH’s mission – volunteering, donating and advocating – and I look forward to sharing opportunities for all of our supporters to be part of the solution to our state’s homelessness crisis.”
Tell also previously spent seven years leading fundraising efforts for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles and served as a program officer for health access with the California Endowment.
Founded in 1984, PATH is committed to ending homelessness for individuals and families throughout California by building affordable supportive housing and providing homeless services. For information, visit epath.org.
