West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister presented a commendation to the Comedy Store on April 8 in celebration of its 50th anniversary. The venue’s CEO Peter Shore accepted the honor.

The Comedy Store was founded on April 7, 1972, on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood by comedian Sammy Shore, his wife Mitzi and comedy writer Rudy DeLuca.

Over the years, the Comedy Store has hosted comedians ranging from Robin Williams to Richard Pryor to Paul Mooney. For more information visit thecomedystore.com.
