Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a 22-year-old man on March 5.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 5, a multi-vehicle traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Western Avenue and Olympic Boulevard. The driver of a blue Dodge Caravan was traveling northbound on Western Avenue when the vehicle collided with a man heading eastbound on an e-scooter. The scooter rider was ejected and fell on the roadway. A vehicle traveling southbound on Western Avenue struck the scooter rider and did not stop.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the scooter driver dead at scene. The 39-year-old driver of the Dodge Caravan stopped at the scene and was not cited or arrested. Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the initial collision, police said. Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at (213)473-0234.
