Melrose Village Neighborhood Alliance is holding a series of “Melrose Wednesday Walks” on Wednesday evenings, giving community members a chance to meet candidates in the upcoming election.
On March 16, candidate Katy Young Yaroslavsky, who has filed to run in the race for Los Angeles City Council’s 5th District, and Hydee Feldstein Soto, a candidate for Los Angeles city attorney, are expected to participate.
The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Spaulding and Waring avenues, walk for about 45 minutes and then visit a Melrose-area restaurant for a light meal and conversation. Parking is available on Waring and Spaulding avenues. The group has been accompanied by senior lead officers from the LAPD’s Wilshire Division, which also promoted partnerships between the community and police department.
The “Melrose Wednesday Walks” are a collaborative effort between the Melrose Village Neighborhood Alliance, comprised of local residents and business owners, and the Wilshire Division’s Community Police Advisory Board.
