Former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Pat Haden was shown in this photograph in the Feb. 10, 1977, issue of the Park Labrea News with 6-year-old George Vick. Haden was the sports chairman of the Crippled Children’s Society’s fundraising campaign that year. The Crippled Children’s Society was renamed AbilityFirst in 2000, and the organization continues to advocate for disability rights and provides programs for adults and children with disabilities. Haden, who was a standout player on the USC Trojans before joining the Rams, was a Park La Brea resident at the time. On Sunday, Feb. 13, the Los Angeles Rams will play the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. For places to watch the game offering food and beverage specials, see Restaurant News on starting on page 16.
