Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California announced that Fatima Djelmane Rodriguez will become the charity’s new CEO. With more than 16 years as a leader in the nonprofit sector, and a longtime steward to her community, Rodriguez brings proven leadership skills to her new role, a spokesperson said.
As CEO, Rodriguez will continue to lead her chapter with significant growth, expanding its impact through programs in Southern California. She previously served as executive director of Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, where she furthered the program’s mission of building healthier lives for children with cancer and their families.
“I’m committed to ensuring RMHCSC is a leader in supporting critically ill and injured children and their families with compassion, cultural competency, integrity and innovation,” Rodriguez said. “With more than 60% of our families coming from communities of color, as a Latina, I’m proud to represent the majority of children and families who rely on our houses, family rooms and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rodriguez helped implement Camp at Home, a virtual program that continued to serve children and families. The program received recognition for its innovation in a time of crisis by Ronald McDonald House Charities. Rodriguez has also expanded the program’s branding and social media presence.
“We are thrilled to congratulate Fatima on her well-earned promotion to CEO of RMHCSC,” said Doug Kanner, chair of the board of directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. “We have worked with Fatima for many years developing and growing the camp and we are so proud of everything she has achieved on behalf of the program.”
