The city of West Hollywood is reminding residents and visitors to remain vigilant about public safety during the New Year’s weekend.
The city continues to be a safe place to live, visit and work, but recent reports of crime increases throughout the Los Angeles area have prompted heightened awareness and concern. The West Hollywood City Council has increased the number of Block by Block Security Ambassadors in business districts during the holiday season to promote enhanced community safety. The ambassadors will have an expanded presence in West Hollywood’s commercial districts through Monday, Jan. 3.
Block by Block Security Ambassadors are deployed on bicycles on major streets, alleys, parking lots and residential neighborhoods. They work in collaboration with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. The security ambassadors also provide an extra level of hospitality to visitors .
The city of West Hollywood and the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station are reminding people to stay alert and remain aware of their surroundings. If you see something suspicious, contact authorities. During emergencies, call 911.
