The Mid City West Neighborhood Council is sponsoring a Shop Local campaign this holiday season and is encouraging people to shop at small businesses rather than at large stores or online.

The council supports local small businesses because they yield benefits for the entire community. Money spent at locally-owned businesses returns more benefits to neighborhood economies. The MCWNC is encouraging shoppers to look for the neighborhood council’s “Shop Local!” logo on store windows and social media. Take a photograph at the local businesses and post them with #shopmidcitywest.

Business owners interested in receiving a free “Shop Local!” logo or using it on social media are encouraged to email Valerie Washburn, chair of the MCWNC’s Economic Development Committee, at vwashburn@midcitywest.org.
