The Beverly Hills Public Library will host a free, virtual author talk with celebrated memoirist and novelist Jill Schary Robinson at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Schary Robinson is the author of several renowned memoirs, including “With a Cast of Thousands,” “Bed/Time/Story” and “Past Forgetting.”

As copywriter for the advertising agency FCB, Robinson trained with businesswoman, American author and publisher Helen Gurley Brown. Robinson also wrote on women’s issues for Cosmopolitan and covered political trials for the SoHo Weekly News.

She is the daughter of Dore Schary, the Oscar- and Tony Award-winning writer, producer and head of MGM.

Robinson’s first memoir, “With a Cast of Thousands,” is about her experiences growing

up among celebrities such as Jane Fonda, Spencer Tracy, Elizabeth Taylor and Adlai Stevenson.

Robinson was given a lifetime grant in 2005 to develop the nonprofit Wimpole Street Writers Program, which continues today in London and Los Angeles. In 2009, Robinson was instrumental in saving the Motion Picture and Television Fund’s retirement home.
