West Hollywood will celebrate Bi Visibility Week from Sept. 16-23.
The city’s events are intended to raise visibility and increase awareness of the bisexual community. The city’s Lesbian & Gay Advisory Board will host two virtual panel discussions on the bisexual community throughout the week.
The first, “Past, Present and Future of the Bisexual Community,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 21. The second, “A Community Discussion on Microaggressions Toward the Bi Community,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 22.
To register for either Zoom webinar, visit weho.gov/calendar. Both sessions will be livestreamed to the city’s WeHoTV YouTube channel.
In addition to the discussions, the city is planning several special recognitions. On Sept. 16, lanterns over Santa Monica Boulevard between Hancock Avenue and Robertson Boulevard will be lit in pink, purple and blue, the colors of the bisexual pride flag.
