For over a century, the beloved Beverly Hills Hotel, often referred to as “The Pink Palace,” has been a favored destination for Hollywood socialites.
Built two years before the city of Beverly Hills was incorporated, the hotel was established with the intention for visitors to stay while looking for property to buy.
The hotel has been the site for countless Hollywood moments and the preferred Southern California playground for celebrities and royalty.
The Beverly Hills Hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012 and was officially named the first historic landmark in the city. In 2019, the hotel established the Beverly Hills Hotel Quarter Centuiy Club to honor the commitment and service of employees who have dedicated more than 25 years to the hotel.
“The staff are an invaluable part of our legacy, and they represent the heart and soul of the hotel. Without them, the Beverly Hills Hotel wouldn’t be what it is today,” said Natalie Savarino, communications manager of the Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows.
Part of the allure of the hotel are the 23 uniquely designed bungalows, with several designated as “legendary.” Tucked among 80-year-old palm trees and banana leaves, the luxuiy cottages feature design elements inspired by some of the hotel’s most notable guests. Bungalow No. 1 was Marilyn Monroe’s favorite place to stay and has been newly restored with warm gold colors and feminine splashes of pink. Indulge in CHANEL N°5 fragrance bar and bath amenities, a favorite of Monroe’s, and browse through a library of books and movies dedicated to the iconic movie star.
Howard Hughes was a welcomed guest at the hotel for 30 years, and his thoughtfully restored bungalow number 3 is designed in bold colors, dark stone and rich exotic woods.
Screen star Charlie Chaplin’s memory lives on in almost eveiy detail in the restored bungalow number 9. Quirky touches add depth and personality to vintage Hollywood glamour. Another favorite, number 12, offers an iconic Palm Springs aesthetic with a beautiful octagonal ceiling. The mid-century custommade furniture, grand piano and terrace fireplace make this bungalow extra cozy.
The hotel’s famed Polo Lounge is the epicenter of celebratory lunches and power dining for locals, legendary stars and Hollywood deal-makers.
Visit the chic, new pool redesigned by renown interior design firm Champalimaud Design. Pink and white awnings adorn the semi-private poolside cabanas with basket weave chairs, terrazzo topped tables and Martinique® banana leaf wallpaper paying homage to the iconic 1940s installation featured in The Fountain Coffee Room and hallways. The Beverly Hills Hotel is located at 9641 Sunset Blvd., Beverly Hills, (310)276-2251.

It is important for the community to know that the Beverly Hills Hotel (as well at the Hotel Bel-Air) is part of the Dorchester Collection owned by the Sultan of Brunei who has implemented Sharia law, at times advocated for brutally stoning to death those in same sex relationships. For this reason, the hotel has been on a boycott list since 2014. I hope your readers understand that every dollar they spend at this establishment helps line the pockets of someone so barbaric and evil.
