On Sept. 16, results from Friends of Griffith Park Raptor Study will be revealed virtually.
Biologists Dan Cooper and Courtney McCammon will join FoGP President Gerry Hans for a presentation of their findings, answer questions and pose new ones for next year’s effort. More than 100 volunteers took up the task of monitoring nests and recording data in Griffith Park and beyond.
A record number of active nests – 294 – were observed this year from eight different raptor species: red-tailed hawk, red-shouldered hawk, Cooper’s hawk, great horned owl, Western screech-owl, barn owl, peregrine falcon and American kestrel.
