The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will implement service changes on Sept 12 to restore bus service to pre-pandemic levels and to provide greater public transit options for people returning to school and work.

Additional trips will be added to numerous bus lines on weekdays and weekends. Passengers are encouraged to check bus schedules online for changes.

Many bus lines will have additional weekday trips, including the 720 Rapid Line along Wilshire Boulevard. Other lines will also experience changes and have trips added. For a complete list of changes, visit metro.net.

Metro will also improve service on the Red and Purple Line subway systems during weekday peak periods, increasing the frequency of trains to every 10 minutes.

The bus changes are part of Metro’s NextGen Bus Plan to make service more frequent and reliable for more riders. The implementation of NextGen, the first overhaul of Metro’s vast bus system in more than 25 years, began last December.
