Last week, patrons eating at La Creme Restaurant on Melrose were robbed at gunpoint. [On Aug. 11], an employee of the Shoe Palace on Melrose was shot and killed. Last July, a victim of an armed robbery in a parking lot on Melrose was forced to shoot two men armed with guns.
A television reporter stated that the LAPD doesn’t appear to have a plan to deal with the crisis. My calls to Councilmember Paul Koretz’s office have been ignored while the Melrose business community continues to be under siege.
Koretz is leaving office next year and no longer appears to be interested in representing our community and assuring that we are protected.

That’s because Koretz, like all Democrat leaders, won’t do his job for fear of being called racist. All of you that keep voting along party lines deserve everything that’s happening.
Agree, David
