The Beverly Hills Human Relations Commission is observing Civility Month in October, promoting positive human relations.
The commission invites community members to encourage an environment where civility, respect and responsible actions prevail.
“While our commission encourages its community members to always act in a civil and kind manner, we take the opportunity to highlight its importance and spread the message of civility throughout the entire month,” Vice Chair Rhoda Sharp said.
For the first time, the city will post civility challenges on the social media platforms @CommunityLifeBH all month. The Human Relations Commission will present the 10th annual Civility Award at 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the City Council meeting.
The award recognizes an individual who consistently demonstrates positive civic behavior, takes a stand in support of respect and responsible actions, and promotes positive neighbor-to-neighbor relations.
