Work on the Purple Line Extension subway project continues this week as traffic signal conduits are relocated in the Westwood area through Aug. 20. Driveway and parking access will be maintained. The work will be done in stages from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic signals and street lights will be maintained.

Construction is also ongoing in Century City, Beverly Hills and the Miracle Mile. In Century City, excavation will continue through the first quarter of 2022 for the Century City/Constellation station. The underground work will take place 24 hours, Monday through Friday. Traffic lane closures are currently in place.

In Beverly Hills, crews are installing geotechnical instruments along the tunnel alignment and around the station box area to monitor ground movement, settlement and geological impacts. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p. m., Monday through Friday on Wilshire Boulevard, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday on residential streets.

Each pole and instrument will be in place for approximately one month before being removed and relocated. The installation and removal of the poles will require intermittent traffic lane and sidewalk closures. However, sidewalks will continue to be accessible once poles are in place.

Crews are also building appendage structures that house vital systems at the Wilshire/La Cienega, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Brea stations. Concrete and material deliveries are expected to continue in August. Street closures and lane reductions on Wilshire Boulevard are anticipated around the subway station sites.
