Looking for summer science enrichment? The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County Adventures in Nature Day Camp is available online.
From July 6-30, participants can explore new topics each week, from dinosaurs to dire wolves, to alligator lizards and the creatures off the coast of Los Angeles, all from the safety of home. Enroll children (kindergarten through fifth grade) in four interactive virtual classes, and they will learn about fascinating subjects that spark their natural curiosity and creativity.
The theme for July 6-9 is dinosaurs. From July 12-16, the theme is Wild L.A. City Safari. The treasures of the La Brea Tar Pits is the theme from July 19-23. Under the Sea is the theme for July 26-30.
Each week includes camp staff leading lessons and activities for 90 minutes, as well as an at-home DIY activities kit that includes a workbook with activity instructions and activity materials for five days of engagement. Campers can do these activities at their leisure and away from the computer screen with some parent involvement.
Campers will also receive camp T-shirts.
The cost is $100 per session for members and $175 for non-members, which will also receive a family pass for two children and two adults to use before Dec. 31.
Registration is now available. For information, visit nhmlac.org/adventures-nature.
