Christopher Street West Association, a nonprofit that produces the annual LA Pride celebration, has announced registration details for people wishing to participate in the month-long Pride Makes a Difference philanthropy campaign in partnership with Big Sunday.
People can register to drop off goods throughout June by visiting lapride.org. Donations benefit local and national nonprofit organizations working with members of underserved communities. Organizations receiving support include the Hollywood Food Coalition, the Trevor Project, Aviva Family and Children’s Services and the Black AIDS Institute.
LA Pride’s Pride Makes a Difference campaign will highlight different needs weekly.
Through June 5, the focus will be on health and wellness, sponsored by Cedars-Sinai with support from Barefoot, Orangetheory Fitness, Lord Jones and AIDS Healthcare Foundation. From June 6-12, the focus will be on combating food insecurity. The effort is sponsored by Pavilions, Albertsons and Vons, Bella+Canvas, U.S. Bank, WarnerMedia and HBO Max.
Housing insecurity will be the focus from June 13-19. That part of the program is sponsored by T-Mobile with support from Nordstrom, Tinder, UPS and Citi. From June 20-30, the focus will be on protecting the environment presented by T-Mobile, with support from Toyota, Target and Kim Crawford.
Supporters can donate items digitally by visiting an online registry created for toiletry kits and food items that are most in need by the organizations.. People can also drop off goods at locations throughout Los Angeles, including Orangetheory Fitness studio locations, as well as Big Sunday, 6111 Melrose Ave.
