West Hollywood has opened an additional grant application opportunity for artist performers and entertainers who are residents.
The WeHo Artist Performance Grants will provide support for artists and offer opportunities for them to share their talents with the community.
The city, through its Arts Division, is seeking entertainers, artists and performers who live in West Hollywood to perform on weekends from July 17 through Sept. 1. Artistic presentations should be engaging, experimental, edgy and boundary-pushing, while helping the public enjoy the pedestrian-friendly culture of West Hollywood. Performers should craft their presentations to take place onsite, outdoors in the city, with the caveat that scheduling will depend on revised health and safety guidelines to ensure COVID-19 safety.
Proposals must have a performance component, which could include music, dance, drag performances, fashion and costume design, body painting, circus arts, comedic arts, live painting, chalk art and dramatic arts such as spoken word. Submissions may be made for solo or group presentations.
The city will award seven $5,000 WeHo Artist Performance Grants. Only artists residing in West Hollywood are eligible. The deadline for submission is 3 p.m. on June 2. To apply, and for information on other West Hollywood grant opportunities, visit weho.org.
