The Original Farmers Market, corner of Third and Fairfax, is celebrating Memorial Day and the official start of summer beginning Thursday, May 27.

The market’s Summer Sounds on the Plaza series returns on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m. from May 27-June 25. Performers include Carbe and Durand from Incendio on May 27, Dave Stuckey and the Hot House Gang on May 28, Otis Hayes Jazzy Trio on June 3, Maiya Sykes on June 4, the Jose Tanaka Flamenco Guitar Trio on June 10 and Guilty Pleasure Makers on June 11.

The Farmers Market also offers the perfect place to shop local, support local butchers and farmers, and give back to the community. Memorial Day is one of the most popular days of the year for barbecuing, and the market’s merchants offer everything needed for the holiday weekend.

Huntington Meats and Sausage features the Nancy Silverton Special Burger Blend, based on the renowned chef’s personal recipe, as well as a variety of beef, pork and poultry.
