On June 5 and 6, members of the Beverly Hills community will join personnel from the Beverly Hills police and fire departments to walk Zone 8 (neighborhoods south of Wilshire Boulevard and east of Beverly Drive) to promote participation in Just In Case BH, the city’s collaborative emergency preparedness program.
The city recently launched Just In Case BH, which brings together Beverly Hills residents and business owners with the fire and police departments and other city agencies to coordinate before and during disasters. Emergency responders may be busy addressing fires, structural collapses and other major problems after a major earthquake. The program prepares residents and business owners to address emergencies themselves until help arrives.
The program divides the city into geographic zones, with each zone designed to be able to support itself during times of emergency.
The group will begin assembling at 10:30 a.m. on June 5 and 6 at Oakhurst Mini Park, 120 S. Oakhurst Drive. The walk begins at 11 a.m. on both days.
