Christopher Street West Association, the nonprofit organization that produces the annual LA Pride celebration, has announced two new, larger capacity and outdoor in-person events expanding June’s monthlong Thrive with Pride celebration. These are in addition to the Thrive with Pride livestreamed TikTok concert with Charli XCX, the ABC7 televised special and the month-long Pride Makes a Difference philanthropic volunteer/donate activation.
“It was always our intention to offer our community opportunities to safely celebrate Pride together in accordance with safety guidelines by both the CDC and Los Angeles County,” said Sharon-Franklin Brown, CSW board president. “It’s been two years since we all came together to celebrate in person. We know our community wants to be together and we want to do everything we can to create these moments. This is why we’re providing other larger capacity, outdoor entertainment for all ages of our community. We’re working closely with city officials and local organizations to make sure these programs provide adequate safety and accessibility as well as reflect the resilience of all our people.”
Each event will have its own separate ticketed capacity restrictions, COVID-19 safety protocol and guest regulations.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have partnered with LA Pride to host LGBTQ+ night at Dodger Stadium on Friday, June 11. An LGBTQ+ artist will kickstart festivities with a rendition of the national anthem, and after the main event, vaccinated fans will be welcomed onto the field to watch a fireworks show. Additional surprises will be announced soon. A special event ticket package is available to fully vaccinated fans that includes a game ticket for the 7:10 p.m. game against the Texas Rangers and an exclusive Dodger Pride-themed t-shirt is on sale at dodgers.com/lapride.
LA Pride has also partnered with the outdoor film organization, Cinespia, for an only-in-L.A. night under the stars with an LGBTQ+ night at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Saturday, June 26. Event details and tickets will be announced online in the coming weeks.
