Chrysalis, a Southern California-based nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless and low-income individuals get jobs, raised $1.15 million during its virtual fundraising event last week, more than double what was raised during the inaugural event in 2020.
The star-studded “Chrysalis Night In” sold more than 1,400 tickets, with funds helping support the nonprofit’s support services. The event featured stories from Chrysalis clients and appearances from Dave Bautista, Eric Dane, Katheryn Winnick, Kit Harington, LL Cool J, Macy Gray, Nick Jonas, Robert De Niro and Zendaya, among others.
Luke Evans performed a cover of the classic song, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and Marc Cohn performed his hit song, “Walking in Memphis,” during the pre-event show. Gray also performed.
