Metro is conducting a survey on potential improvements around the future subway stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega on the Purple Line Extension project.
Input is sought about walking and bicycling improvements around the new stations, including new trees and landscaping, improved crossings and sidewalks, places to sit and improved bus stops. The information will help inform Metro’s Purple Line Extension First/Last Mile Plan.
An individual’s trip is considered the entire journey from origin to destination. Individuals may use different modes of transport to complete the journey, including walking, driving, riding a bicycle, taking a train or a combination of modes. Bus and rail services often form the core of a trip, but users complete the first and last portions on their own. For example, they must first walk, bike, drive or use another form of transportation to and from the nearest station. This is referred to as the first and last mile of the user’s trip.
The Purple Line Extension, Section One First/Last Mile Plan will identify access improvements within a half mile of the future stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega. Those taking the survey will be asked to mark a map to answer most questions. The survey typically takes 5-10 minutes.
The deadline to participate in the survey is April 2.
