The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles presents a special online performance in remembrance of 1992 Los Angeles Riots titled “Harmony in Los Angeles” on Thursday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m., on KCCLA’s YouTube channel.
This year marks the 29th anniversary of the Los Angeles Riots. In commemoration of those who struggled, communities will join together to send a harmonious message through music and dance. The program will include a solo, duet and group dance.
“As kindred spirits, we are here to share this beautiful stage of Ari Hall. Through dance, we throw away our inhibition, doubts, fear, and hatred,” said Juli Kim, choreographer, dancer and executive director of Harmony in Los Angeles. “The drums roar and guide our hearts to beat in unison. And then, perhaps, we can remember that we are beings that worship love, freedom and beauty.”
“We prepared a special online performance in commemoration of the LA Riots. The two dance communities came together to celebrate life, culture and friendship,” KCCLA director Wijin Park added. “Please enjoy the world of love and harmony.”
